This worked great on my Alienware 17.3 inch laptop. It's strong, supportive (jumps a bit but that's to be expected), secure clip for my desk (oval would be better than round as it takes up more space under the desk). This arm is amazingly strong and well constructed (I only say that because most cheap products like this don't offer enough weight support or durability, or aren't meant for a variety of uses).
