Seriously the most disgusting thing I've ever smelled. Was in my hermit crab tank less than 5 minutes before it stank my entire second floor. The smell is so awful that it won't wash off the dishes it lay in. I put it in a zipped bag and straight into the trash can on the street. It's not worth it!

smells so bad! - Food

River shrimp don't smell like that. I grew up eating and still eat smelly food, but trivet shrimp are superior to anything smelly I've ever eaten. I choked and almost threw up in the jar when I opened it. I thought I might have overreacted so I tried giving my hermit crab one and I've never seen it run so fast. He lives for the shrimp and doesn't get too close to them

Great little treat: reptiles and amphibians

Well, first of all, the smell and taste rating is made by my crabs. They loved this stuff. I just tossed one in their food bowl and watched them crawl towards it just for the smell and then eat it just for the taste. So it's worth seeing how they go after him. I keep mine in the fridge after opening so it doesn't go bad. I give them two every other day. Will be a regular purchase for my little boys.

These are tiny little shrimp in a can

My hermit crabs loved them but they went bad before I was even 1/4 of the way through the can. I'll try to freeze them in a plastic ziplock bag so I can use what I paid for. If you have hermit crabs, you know how little they eat in one sitting. Although this jar is very small, my hermit crabs last months and months. They also smell them as soon as I put them on a plate of food and see them burrow out of their hiding places to eat. you love her

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

  • Vulgarity

My hermit crabs hated it.

Well I have 9 crabs and when I adjusted her plate to include these shrimp I had high hopes. The next morning I checked to see if they liked them and was amazed to find they did. cleared my plate of everything except the shrimp! (It's like giving a dog peas mixed with food! The bowl is licked clean but the clean peas roll around on the bottom of the bowl!) I thought they would like it but none of them moved. I need to get back to the canned formula drawing board, the crabs have spoken!

Much more than I expected

Well I didn't think I would ever write a review for canned shrimp. But my daughter got some hermit crabs on our recent trip to the beach, and there isn't a place to buy hermit crabs locally, so I went to Revane. Hermit crabs love love love it! A can is smaller than a can of cat food, but will last you for several weeks. They really pack a lot of food into this small space. Hermit crabs love it - they have to smell it - because throwing in some shrimp will wake them up and get them moving. When…

My poor "Daddy Cat " crab died

I put 2 canned shrimp in my hermit crab enclosure. My largest crab, Cat Daddy, came over and checked while my other 2 crabs actually escaped to the other side of the tank. I assumed they didn't care about the smell. The shrimp were smelly and dirty. But I'm used to fresh, plump pink shrimp, not canned. So I assumed it should be a smelly and dark gray color based on other reviews. I should have followed my intuition instead of shaking off my uneasiness. After biting off a few bites, Cat Daddy…
