🔌 Fluval Rubber Adapter for Ribbed Hosing, Models 304, 305, 404, 405 (2 Pieces) Review

I used these to install an in-line carbon dioxide reactor. I didn't realize I needed them at first, so I was disappointed that I had to buy something else. Once they arrived they were easy to install and sealed for a week. I can confirm this works for the hose that comes with the new 307 filters. I used one for the CO2 reactor and one on the filter valve itself. They are perfect for both. Edit: Two years later and moving across town and they still haven't leaked once.

Fluval hoses are available with a non-removable rubber connector on each end. Each inlet and outlet are fitted with removable rubber hose adapters. Works great if you just want to shorten the hoses and go straight from the filter to the inlet/outlet. You don't need awfully long hoses, then you need these adapters. They fit snugly to the cut ends of the flow tubing and ensure a snug fit.

While these rubber adapters may seem overpriced, they do the job well enough. They are used to accept and attach Fluval plastic finned hose to smooth hose and tubing. I used them to attach Glaslily Tubes (17mm) to my Fluval canister filters. I will eventually replace the corrugated tubing with clear vinyl tubing, but I was saving money and didn't want to completely remake the connections.
