Product fits and looks good. That works great. However, it was presented as a metal while being ductile in almost every respect. As it turned out, with good lubrication of the mechanism, the tailgate opens almost effortlessly. even the little finger can easily do it. So I guess it doesn't matter that the part is plastic and not metal.

The pros and cons are the same with this product. The upside is that this grip has a factory look and feel and is easy to install, but the downside is that it looks and feels the same as factory. I'm afraid it won't last long. can't lose much for what you pay. I would wish that maybe this manufacturer made this handle out of a more durable material where the two end pieces that connect to the tailgate lock together instead of cheap plastic.

Worked great on my 1994 Ford Ranger. The only thing that held me back was that my butterfly has notches on the bottom and I felt like the hooks on the handle were meant to go into them. Turns out they're not, they just have to be at the bottom. Other butterflies on YouTube don't even have notches. Attached is a picture to show what I mean and to help other 1994 Ford Ranger owners. The pen looks good, seems to be well made and at a great price. If it fits your truck I would look no further.

I read the reviews and knew it was a lure and a clue before I bought it, the price was a sure gift.
