🪓 Black Forester Stump Vise Filing Review

In general the item is good. The knurled knob is a big plus over typical flat tuning keys. Enamel color does not match finish 100%. In some places the coating is lighter and in some places the color is missing. But damn, that's what a can of paint is for. Does what it's supposed to, holds the chainsaw bar securely.

March 2019 - black plastic handle is good and resisted using channel locks on the base of the handle to tighten. The vise thread is not finished (cast metal is not threaded through). To install the handle into the base I used a screw thread to finish off the base thread. This was very difficult and damaged the threads on both the bolt and base (it had no tap and die) and NO, there were no cross threads when it was installed; just poor production with no quality control.

I just received a Forester stump vise and opened the package. Stihl construction for thumb and forefinger. I screwed the handle into a stump vise and only went halfway through the internal threads before it got stuck. It's unusable right out of the box. Internal thread and a matrix for cleaning the external thread on the handle. That thing is better for fishing than a stump vise. Do not buy this product.
