Forney 🔧 72792 Crimped Shank Wheel Review

Does exactly what I need. Use this to remove rust from rotor hats in order to paint them. Ideal for removing rust. The packaging could have been safer. It comes in a plastic bag but some of the bristles were sticking out and I bumped my finger while grabbing the plastic bag.

For the price this is a FANTASTIC product. I bought it to do some greasy work and figured it might or might not survive. If he did a job and that was it, I would be happy. I'm happy to report that he completed the first assignment and several others. The wheel works very well with a hand drill. I suspect it would be fine in a drill press.

It looks like the spoked wheel I received was defective. I've used it for less than a day and the wire wear was very uneven - the wheel lost most of the wire on one side, see photo. As a result, the drill swayed wildly and it was impossible to keep it straight. When I received the new wheel it looked symmetrical. But with short-term use, it quickly lost its symmetry, and then became practically unusable. Imagine trying to keep the drill at a constant distance from the object to be cleaned, but…
