Description of Fostar Upgrade Ferro Rod Fire Starter: Reliable Flint Fire Steel Rod for Emergency Survival, Camping, Hiking, Bushcraft, and More!

Lightweight and durable: It is composed of lightweight aircraft aluminum body and replaceable threaded 1/4 x 2" Ferrocerium rod. Ultra-portable for key ring, pocket and neck carry. Product dimensions: 3.6 x 0.4 x 0.4 inches, its weight is 0.7ounce. Use a protruding connection design to make the exposed part longer and easier to ignite. The arc-shaped sawteeth and elongated blade is more prone to sparks. Great survival tool: Great for Bush-craft, Hiking, Camping, Hunting, Fishing, EDC, Emergency, BBQ, etc.

Ferrorods are good for outdoor recreation

They are not the best and they are not the worst. You really need to strip the coating off of them before you hit and you need to have a sharp 90 degrees and pretty hard bare to get good sparks.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Good size for a light load.

not used yet. However, they are suitable for emergency bags/small rescue bags. Enough space inside to shove some tinder. The lanyard hole is suitable for paracord.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • almost never

Great little compact ferro sticks

These are just great little lighters to keep or take with you anywhere. Small enough to hang on your keychain, put in your car, or put in your backpack and forget about it until you need it. I keep one lined with waxed petroleum jelly and such in my camp stove and pot so I never have to worry about forgetting my lighter.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Long delivery time

I would not recommend this for a visit.

The rod itself is ok, it's flimsy but replaceable, works as long as you use something other than the firing pin provided. The part of the handle is very small, it is difficult to hold it, but it is compact and beautiful in appearance. So celebrate small victories. If you're looking for a safe, small, easy-to-carry ferro staff it's hard to find, if you're looking for something to start a fire I'd look elsewhere. As with all reviews please take note.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Well-made compact lighter

All parts fit well. They don't look cheap. Very good for the price. If you need a fire starter in a small package, it's very effective. The compass is a nice little bonus. Just keep in mind that this is more of a fallback. It works, but if you plan to use it for its intended purpose and frequently, get one of the larger 5" or 6" sticks so you can release more sparks if you're stuck with tinder, which isn't it is ideal. Much easier for the big ones to lean on the log and aim for whatever tinder…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • There are problems
