For assembling the breakout box

Ideal for assembling the ODB2 breakout box and troubleshooting loss of network communication in the vehicle. I was able to assemble my own for a fraction of the cost of buying a breakout tool and this connector allowed me to do just that. I was also able to assemble it with a nice long cord that allowed me to use it under the hood where I was chasing problems.

Suitable for replacement connector ScanGauge II, YMMV for other uses

Bought to make a new connector for my ScanGauge II. It turns out that the eight pins shown here are perfectly aligned with SGII. Unfortunately the breakout board is already soldered to the pins so you can't make a proper solder connection and instead have to heat the pad on the same side as the wires. Nevertheless, she does her job well. SCII, you just need to use a multimeter to match the OBD-II pins to the eight pads on the board. In my case, I also drilled a hole in the beveled edge of the…

Basically it's 4 parts. Front / rear covers / 4 screws, cable routing and pinout. There are 8-9 small holes on the back of the 16 pins to solder the wires where they need to go. I got this to build computer memory for 12 volt car batteries. On the internal solder points, the 4.5 terminals are easy to find (they have lines showing which terminal they connect to, but pin 16 (B+) was not marked. There was a hole next to the 4 at the end, 5 when I checked it with using an ohmmeter which is a bit…
