Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I was able to easily install this blower resistor in my car. It has significantly improved the performance of my vehicle, allowing me to have greater control over the temperature inside the car. I installed this particular part about a month ago. This is a newer version of the fan motor resistor than I bought at my local auto parts store for twice the price last year. This one only lasted 8 months (remote start and -30F combo) so hopefully they've improved the diode as that's the part that failed (it's a different component), although I'll probably turn the fan off when I do start the car. winter from now on.
