When I received this opener I opened it and cracked it straight away. Little did I know it wasn't on hinges. I still give it 5 stars because I use it to open up my bathroom drain. I just got a new tub and it was so hard to open that I started having severe pain in my thumb joints. I had to keep my fingers crossed. Anything from a bathtub drain plug opener! This opener makes it easy to open and close. Even though I broke it, it works great.

Ideal for opening cans without using excessive force. Depending on the size of the jar, simply stand under the ring and twist the smaller handle, close with your (right) palm, then hold the jar with your left hand. I have found that turning the jar upside down before opening also helps. This opener is best for hard-to-open cans. The OXO can opener slides. So I got this for glasses. It is durable, has a durable rubber grip, and is safer to use.

I have this for wide mouth and fermenting jars which can often get stuck. It helps a little but it takes two people with really tight lids as it's just shorter to have good leverage. That dose gives you something to hold on to so it's 3 and under as it actually helps a little. .
