This is my third purchase of this product. Had one in our old house and absolutely had to have one in the new one. The third was a gift for a friend with arthritis. She loves it!

I bought this because I have arthritis in my hands and needed extra grip to open the lids. It's terrible. I have to use too much of my own strength to get him to grab the lid. Would return but I was on vacation and missed the return date.

Definitely works! Love that it's in place and out of sight (pretty much). I don't need any drawer space for it and it's always ready to use. I've used it to open a couple water bottles that got really stuck and it worked great. Also works very well on normal sized glasses. Let's see how the summer heat affects this while we're not in Arizona as it's attached with some kind of strong duct tape.

bought an opener to help my wife open small to medium screw cap containers. She finds it almost useless, it takes too much effort up and back to open the container. The gripping teeth aren't aggressive enough and the depth of the area in the triangle where you place the container lid is too shallow. I wouldn't recommend this unless your arm strength is greater than my 5ft 2in 105lb women.

I am a 76 year old elderly woman with nerve damage in my right hand and arm. Therefore, I find it very difficult to remove the lids from jars with a new product. I live alone so I have to open the banks myself. The previous house had a similar vise, but I couldn't get it out from under the closet to take it to the new house. It was great opening lids so tight that it was impossible to open them with your hands. So I bought this vise. It's totally useless. I've been using it for about 6 months…
