The problem with this is the "flap" which is supposed to create a sort of lid/vent for floor cleaning, just sucks under the door and prevents it from closing. I tried cutting it horizontally but it was very difficult to hold it in place to cut a straight line. I ended up cutting this valve off and just using the bottom center strip.
