Powerful and gets the job done!

We had a family croquet tournament this Memorial Day weekend and it was great. The wood is thick and durable. Croquet balls have the perfect consistency of material. In some sets, the balls are more durable than wooden mallets. Not in this set. Spend more money and get this set. You will not be disappointed.

Don't worry: games and outdoor activities

Stake broke after being hit by seven people; in the second game a racquet broke; three balsas were broken or dented after the first game; two wires were bent when first packed and beyond repair; and another hammer broke in the second game. This is used by adults (read typical) and not by kids who spank them. We packed it up again and ordered the best set. Don't bother.

A $30 set at best; It's garbage; Trust the reviews and save yourself the headache.

1) The balls in this set are very soft; All have multiple dents and cuts after one game (no golf style shots and our 3 kids had very little contact). Absolute rubbish. Now I see several other people have posted pictures of this so I'm skipping it. 2) handles don't fit; You can tighten it, but then you have to take it apart because the carrying case is too small. I would give them 10 games before they all break. 3) Goals are WAY too short and flimsy for a "professional" set. Franklin should be…

Decent starter kit, low skills.

Great value starter kit. Got this to kill time during the COVID lockdown. Do not expect too much. The product is packed in a cardboard box, everything is wrapped in plastic. No storage box unless you reuse the box. It took about 3 games before one of the sticks broke and we didn't really overuse it or swing it much. It just broke with regular use. Sticks are cheap. But if you're like me and just want a cheap set for learning to play, playing with kids, killing time, etc. then this is a good…

There were high expectations but cheap / small parts that break

We love playing croquet at a family level. We had a starter kit for 7 or 8 years that needed replacing. We decided to purchase the "Professional" kit hoping it would be more durable and stand up to us. Initially we were very happy with it (except for the case - quite cheap and with a zipper that came undone after the first use), after 8 uses the head broke off the hammer.
