Smooth, not quite portrait. Pretty average canvas to be honest. If I had known that the surface of the canvas is so rough, I would not have bought it. The wooden frame is quite cheap.

Very good quality! I usually work with Daler-Rowney medium smooth canvases (red label "artist stretched canvas") and you can see in my paintings (large canvas) that it looks smoother. It's out of stock due to the coronavirus, so I was looking for a good alternative. I was hoping Fredrix Ultrasmooth would be the same, but it's more textured and a bit thinner. Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase. Arrived safely! Can't wait to color.
