Enhanced Air 2S Drone Compatibility: Freewell Variable VND Filter covering 2-5 Stops and 6-9 Stops Review

I am very glad I bought this filter for my Mavic 2 Zoom. This has saved me the hassle and time of switching and finding the right filter when I'm in the middle of a field, especially when lighting conditions suddenly change. I was able to quickly shoot down the drone, adjust it, and send it back faster than a NASCAR pit stop. It helped a lot to maintain continuity.

This listing originally stated this filter was for Pocket 1 and 2. The list name has now been updated to remove Pocket 2. If you use these filters on Pocket 2 and stop at 4 or 5 the filter will cause vignetting that will severely degrade the quality of photos and videos. This may be due to the Pocket 2's slightly wider lens. I'll be returning my filter set soon as the vignetting is very noticeable.

Very high quality and easy to assemble. There's no need to carry around a whole set of filters, but the main reason I love them is that they don't need to be removed. 2-5 stops is great for all my light conditions. 6-9 is used for super bright days and long exposures. But wait, there's more lol, it comes with a great carry case that's super easy to open and close.

The quality is ok in the lower part of the ND levels. My problem is that when I try to put them on, they don't fit all the way in. I have a feeling I'll break the mounts completely if I try to attach them to the lens. So mine doesn't rotate fully clockwise on the mount. So I'm hoping one of them won't accidentally fall off when I'm flying. I attached ND filters that easily attach to the mount.

I have several Freewell products but unfortunately they don't stay in my bag. They have very strong vignetting at every stop. At foot 5, in bright sunlight, I have vignetting right down the center and the rest of the feet to the left or right. Also they are very heavy, several times I was up and didn't want to go down to remove the filter. so I would just adjust the shutter speed to take a panorama. As predictable with any displaced polarizer, the sky is rendered unevenly. There is also vignetting and unpleasant reflections. If you look at the filter you can see that Freewel didn't cover the inside of the red ring on the filter. While it might look dainty from the outside, there are menacing red highlights in the corners of the frame. If the sun enters the frame, you get red reflections in several places. Exactly what you expect from Freewell! Excellent quality. I bought these to replace my set of 8 Freewell 4K series batteries. I just wish I knew sooner. This is much more convenient and you can leave the 2-5 stop filter on in all but the brightest conditions. Less handling of the gimbal is a good thing.
