Smaller than you think / listed. It's supposed to be stainless steel, but it stains my white dog's neck and turns grey/blue within minutes of movement/skin contact.

In general, that's what I'm looking for. However, there are two issues I want to mention. First, if your dog has long hair, don't buy it. put hair in chain. stores don't seem to sell chains larger than 24 inches at a reasonable price. This durable strong choker is good for your strong willed brood. Although I've never been able to "frighten cravings" with it. I'm confident his mate won't chew him while he's playing. I use it more as a collar as any material collar will get dirty while wearing it.

Wish it was twice as thick. I bought similar ones in Patsmart, they were much thicker. I'm afraid it will break if my big dog pulls too hard. I hope not. TO UPDATE. It works out! I put collar 1 on. I've only had it 7 months and the entire chain is almost rusted. I've had one and not a drop of rust for at least 2 if not 3 years before. This gave my dog a very bad reaction and made her throat itchy like crazy. I've never had problems like this with a choker. I will definitely not buy this company again. Also, my dog is not a street dog, so it hasn't rusted from the weather.

I do not recommend this product. I have two dogs and bought three of these necklaces. The chain seems to work well enough for one of my dogs, but another stronger dog managed to break two of them. In both cases the chain on the ring broke at the end. It looks like the ring isn't welded on, just bent, which creates weaknesses. Instead, go to your local pet store and pay extra for something you know will last, that's not what you want.

I love this necklace. I first bought a 22" but it didn't fit because when you thread it through the ring to create a choke the actual chain circumference is only 20". The 26 inch chain is very thick and probably twice the weight which I wasn't expecting but I think they feel like you need a stronger dog if you want a longer chain.
