I love this necklace. I first bought a 22" but it didn't fit because when you thread it through the ring to create a choke the actual chain circumference is only 20". The 26 inch chain is very thick and probably twice the weight which I wasn't expecting but I think they feel like you need a stronger dog if you want a longer chain. I actually bought it to carry myself and I'm enjoying the extra weight. So far the finish hasn't irritated my sensitive skin. She plucked the hair on the back of her head before I shaved so I can't imagine it being that comfortable on dog fur but I've given my labrador a size of 22" and it doesn't seem to bother her.
