This product cannot actually cut through potatoes, it needs to be slapped several times whilst someone else is holding it as the suction cups allow it to slide across the counter top.

We like it so far. We cooked red-brown and red (potatoes) raw without any problems. I also cut other vegetables into cubes. If it were me I would make it a little higher with a rim to put a plate under because you have to cut the counter with that.

This is not a very good slicer. Potato cutting takes a long time, and the slight suction that the wood chips adhere to does not affect the stability of the slicer in any way. You need to build muscle, but be careful because it's unstable and a bit dangerous.
