Excellent brand name for drills and routers

Freud drills are made in Italy and are a premium brand. I have several of both and have had very good luck with them. They are sharp and last a long time. You can't go wrong with this brand.

Pros
  • Ultra Sharp Spur - Provides an accurate hole and eliminates 'walking' on material
Cons
  • Doubtful

Really good tool

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Once I got my process up and running, I could fly through hundreds of holes on the drill press without thinking about the chisel. Cuts with very little effort, removes chips with ease, feel on the last hole is the same as the first.

Pros
  • Hardened steel body - ensures longer life and a sharper edge
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good but should be better for the price

Better suited to a drill press than a hand drill the center piece is closed short In soft or rough sawn wood, the protrusions around the perimeter of the drill bit will bite into the wood and push the drill bit away from its intended location, damaging the surface of the wood. This would not happen with a drill press. The drill is aggressive and can cause surface cracks. Start with light pressure to prevent tearing and you can quickly drill to the desired depth. I tested it in the forest, itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Steep angled cutting edges - makes holes smooth and shallow and creates 'chisel' waves for quick and clean chip evacuation
Cons
  • Not sure
