must be ordered at least 1 size up but maybe 2. I wanted XXL (18) so it would be worn over sweaters next fall will stuff, but instead it suits him right now. After washing and drying it seems to fit more like a 14 or 14-Max 16. I haven't used hot on any of them, but they still shrink, and I absolutely refuse to dry my baby clothes just because companies don't pre-shrink their fabrics before production. The sweater is nice and soft. There are no hanging threads. The colors of the sweater are just beautiful. I ordered my son a size L (which turned out to be a 10/12 on the label) because he will be outgrowing size 8 shirts and sweaters very soon.
