Should not be covered in webs out of the box

My bee house arrived and the front was covered in some sort of webs right out of the box. Unsure whether I will return it, but it is currently residing in a plastic bag in my freezer. Yuk.

Pros
  • Natural predators
Cons
  • The bee house may be too small to make a significant impact on overall pollination rates

Disappointed in the color/quality

I was super excited about getting this bee hotel in the forest green color, but when it came the color was not only much lighter, but the paint job was really inconsistent. I understand that paint can absorb into wood, but it looked really sloppy and uneven. If the pictures had shown that, fine, but they looked to be colored all over. Lastly, the roof was made with multiple pieces of wood that looked bad. You'll see in the first and second picture that the roof is haphazardly put together with…

Wonderful, sturdy bee house!

I have lots of flowering plants, so the idea of a bee house was intriguing to be. I love this product! It is pretty and well made and is a welcome addition to my garden. And, after just a few days, I’ve seen bees buzzing around it. I definitely would recommend this bee house.

Pros
  • Natural Habitat
Cons
  • The bamboo tubes may attract bees that are not native to the region, potentially disrupting the ecosystem

Very cute and pretty in my yard

I love this - it's very pretty hanging on my fence in the middle of my butterfly and bee garden. I don't have any residents yet (this is my first bee house), but I'm hoping I do soon. If successful, I'll definitely buy a couple of more for around the rest of the yard.

Pros
  • Working great
Cons
  • The bee house may not attract enough bees to make a significant impact on pollination

Read the reviews best in my review

I agree with others that the quality is sub par. Wood panels consist of multiple strips stapled together with small gaps showing (I will seal these up before mounting). Time will tell if it last 1 or 2 seasons. I have some scrap aluminum flashing that I may cover the roof with. It's not bad for my first bee house, will see how popular it is with the bees here.UPDATE:I ended up returning the Mason Bee House. Purchased other ones from LOWE'S for less and are larger and much nicer quality. (Some…

Not the best craftsmanship

I ordered two of them. The craftsmanship on each one definitely could be better. One bee house had one nail sticking out between the roof and side and the other house had 3 nails sticking out. These look like they were made on Friday night after a few beers.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The bee house may not be attractive to bees if there are no flowers or other sources of food nearby

Beautiful attractive and functional!

Very well made and beautiful. I have placement at my garden entrance. The company is amazing to deal with and goes above and beyond with their customer service

Pros
  • Low cost
Cons
  • The bee house may not be suitable for all sizes or types of gardens, limiting its potential impact on pollination

Heavy duty cute bee box

It's the perfect trial size to see if it attracts bees! It's heavy, real wood, and overall seems durable. All of my bamboo was in place upon opening, as I had seen some reviews complain of that. Overall, it was quick delivery, and I'm excited to see results over time!

Pros
  • Cestari Bee Houses, Etc.
Cons
  • The bamboo tubes may need to be replaced frequently, increasing the cost of maintenance

Well built and exceptional guarantee

It appears to be very well built, sturdy and capable of lasting for many years. It will be a cute addition to my garden in the spring. At that point, we will see how truly functional it is. It appears to be well designed for it's task - assuring the presence and reproduction of mason bees in my yard.

Pros
  • Very cute, smaller than I expected.
Cons
  • The bee house may require frequent maintenance and cleaning

Cutest Bee House! for my opinion

I love this adorable bee house! Can't wait for the bees to come in. So cool that 1 mason bee pollinates as much as 100 honey bees! Our garden will be happy :DGetting my family some for Christmas too.

Pros
  • The bee house requires no special installation process
Cons
  • The bee house may require specialized equipment to monitor or maintain, increasing its overall cost

Well worth buying good for me

Seriously cute and looks good in the garden. Already attracted local Mason Bees and appear to have a number of sealed tubes - hopefully from bees. You will not be disappointed with this. We have tough weather but I project these will serve well for years

Pros
  • Bought as a gift- my sister LOVED it!
Cons
  • The bamboo tubes may become moldy or dirty over time, potentially harming the bees

House for Boring Bees

It looks really cute. I have placed it where there are lots of boring bees. Not one of them has moved into the bee house. I was in hopes that it would be a solution because I don't want to kill polllenators. Who knows, maybe next year they will gravitate to it.

Pros
  • Attracts bees: It is a magnificent to lure bees to your garden
Cons
  • Other outdoor activities such as mowing the lawn or heavy traffic may disturb the bees or their nests

Just as I expected - my new review

I've had mason bee houses before and wanted to add one to my backyard. I've never had one with various sizes of tubes before so it will be interesting if the bees prefer some sizes over the others. I'm a little late to the game this year but expect our bees to find this house by fall and for sure by next summer.

Pros
  • The mason bee house requires low maintenance, making it a perfect fit for busy people
Cons
  • The bee house may not be compatible with certain types of garden designs or aesthetic styles

So cute but still vacant

The house is adorable and well built. We even painted some flowers on it. Unfortunately our carpenter bees have no interest in moving in.Update: Sadly, the bees still have not moved in. I would put this product in the decor catagory.

Pros
  • Efficient pollinators: Compared to bumble bees, mason bees are more efficient
Cons
  • The bee house may not be suitable for areas with heavy foot traffic or other forms of human activity

Not sturdy. Not well made

Unfortunately many of the bamboo pieces have only tiny holes that NO mason bee can fit through. I had to personally drill out about 1/4 of all the pieces. Furthermore, many of the larger rods have openings only 1 - 1 .5 inched deep. Mason bees need to lay their eggs 4-5 inches deep. The bamboo rods are not secured in the house. Many fell out as the house was tipped forward. It does not include a hook for hanging, rather there is a wire loop on the back that can be placed on a hook. This item is

Pros
  • Inspires sustainability
Cons
  • The bamboo tubes may attract pests or diseases that could harm the bees or their nests over time

Hopeful in Oregon good for me

The mason bee house arrived quickly. It's what I expected. I haven't yet decided where to hang the house. Therefore, I can't really comment too much as yet. I bought this to hopefully inspire some 'worker' bees to hang around and help pollinate our garden. Including our blueberries that had very few blueberries last year.

Pros
  • Good quality.
Cons
  • Pesticides or other chemicals used in the surrounding environment may harm the bees attracted to the bee house

Looks good on my review.

Seems to be well made, bought 2 of them and was hoping to have bees in them by now, but so far no luck. Might have to adjust placement closer to flowering plants.

Pros
  • The bee house hosts solitary bees; hence diverse in terms of species
Cons
  • The bee house may require special care or attention during certain seasons or weather conditions

Great bee house: my feedback

Pros
  • Need to get bees
Cons
  • The FSC Certified Wood Mason Bee House may not be as effective as other bee houses on the market

It really does work. Can

I bought this as a gift after I received one . I love it. Don’t give up. It can take awhile for the bees to find it! The bee house may be too heavy or bulky to move around easily!

Pros
  • Educational: The bee house provides an educational experience for kids and adults
Cons
  • The bee house may be too heavy or bulky to move around easily
