Works perfectly! - CB and talkback radios

No problem! Easily program Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood, Baofeng, MTC, B-Tech, Leixen and TYT radios using Chirp and the manufacturer's radio programming software.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Other Other

Doesn't work on some makes and models

Works great for booting Baofeng radios, but doesn't work on Vertex Standard V-150 when using CHIRP with both. May work with other programs, but currently not with CHIRP.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works well with CHIRP

Fits Kenwood and Baofeng radios on Kenwood 2 pin part. Also included are connectors for a couple of other radios that I don't have. Drivers were automatically installed in Win10. Works well with CHIRP.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

You get what you pay for. The chipset software is an Easter egg hunt.

This is a cable. Finding the right chipset driver was an Easter egg hunt, which I didn't want to do. I had to read other reviews to find out that the fake chipset wasn't the 2102 that most of us have, but now that I've found the driver it works fine, I've programmed 100 Kenwood TK3312 radios with no problems.

Pros
  • Fair performance
Cons
  • Contact seller

That does not work. Tried different radios. That does not work.

This doesn't work. I connected it. Tried about 9 times in 9 different ways. That does not work. I used the OEM version and it works fine. I wanted to keep this in my glove box in case I needed to program on the go. Well so many for all in one, more like 0 out of 8 because no 8 port radios will work, but they all work great with OEM cables. At least I didn't spend much, what a waste of time and effort

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Low repairability

Needs a little more effort

I was looking for a cable that would work with several different types of radios that I have at the Volunteer Fire Department. I have different cables depending on which radio I programmed, but this one seems to work for all of them. Upon receipt I found that my Windows 10 PC didn't know what to do with it, so after a little effort and reading the comments I realized I had to download the driver manually. I searched the internet for CH341 and immediately found the driver I needed. After…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

That does not work. in Portable Audio & Video

Unfortunately the chipset is CH340, not CP2102 as many people have pointed out (enough people seem to have complained that they changed the description to reflect this). Not necessarily a big deal for some, but many of the handhelds listed will not work with this chipset. I can personally confirm that this does not work with the Baofeng UV-5R series. It also doesn't work with my Baofeng BF888S. I can easily verify this as I have two other cables (specifically for Kenwood/Baofeng etc.) that work

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Fits

Chipset Yuheng CH341, not Silicon Labs CP2102 as advertised

This cable works great with CHIRP software (from chirp.danplanet.com) and is plug and play on Linux and Windows. but the chipset is Yuheng CH341, not Silicon Labs CP2102 as advertised. This is probably not a problem, and neither Linux nor (latest) Windows versions require a separate driver download. (Given the well-documented issues with the Prolific PL2303 driver, I find it beneficial to use a third-party chipset.) The CH340/CH341 chipset is widely used in the Arduino community, and the driver

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different
