The easiest way to change the oil is with a great valve

Nobody paid me anything or lowered the prices. This valve simplifies the oil change. Trouble with the drain plug when changing the oil. Now we put Fumoto in every car we own.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Good product! for parts

Got this for my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 and it fits perfectly. There are no leaks at all and it will be easier to change the oil next time. Oil Filter Removal Tip: Use a large ziplock bag (gallons) and remove the filter after placing the bag on top of the filter. This keeps the filter and oil free from contamination.

Good and comfortable

I've had this Fumoto release valve for almost 18 months now. It's very comfortable and I recommend it. However, this particular version doesn't have a very long hose end, so I would recommend a version with a longer hose connection so that it doesn't accidentally come loose when draining the engine oil.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Volume

Very cheaply made. Broke after a quarter turn.

I bought it a few months ago but haven't installed it until today because I didn't have to change the oil when I bought it. When I installed it today, I hand tightened the valve, turned the hole so it was in a good spot, and then did my first turn with a torque wrench. I did it a quarter turn and the screw came out clean. It was a terrible product and I won't but one more.

Pros
  • good thing

Great addition to my Ford Focus!

I used this valve to replace drain plugs on my Ford Focus vehicles (2012 SEL and 2014 SE). Makes changing the oil easier. For those of you worried about oil leaks - don't worry. Significant force is required to open the valve and the handle must be turned to drain the oil. In addition, Fumoto has added a plastic mount for extra protection. It is absolutely impossible to accidentally turn the valve to the open position.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great idea, poor execution

I thought it would be great if my frequent oil changes could be made easier and less messy. I hadn't planned that the oil change would take all day. On a 60°F day with an oil temp of 70°F, it took over an hour just to drain the oil. The valve size is MUCH small to allow oil to pass through at ambient temperature in a reasonable amount of time. Heck, even 15 minutes would be acceptable. I don't like the idea of starting the engine hot to drain the oil in 15 minutes - oil at 220F removes a lot of

This gutter is made from inferior material

I am a retired aircraft mechanic with over 30 years of experience. I removed the drain plug and drained the oil. I cleaned the back of the drain body and began installing the fumoto drain into the body. About 3/4 of the way it got full. Before the blue washer was installed and before the threads were more than tight, the male threads fitted the body smoothly. I went to my tool box, pulled out a set of internal NPT removal plugs, just popped them in and twisted the broken threads out of the…

Very nice unit

Me and my car don't need this valve but I've always wanted one since I found out about it. Changed spark plugs without draining the oil. As? I didn't want to wait until my next oil change to use it. My buddy brought the vacuum to the oil fill hole to create a vacuum in the engine. I removed the original oil drain plug. The oil didn't come out. In fact, the vacuum sucked air through the drain hole. I screw in a new valve with no mess and no fuss. I then drained the oil directly into the…

Fits 6th Generation Camaro SS.

This is less an overview than information. I installed this on my 2018 Camaro SS just a few hours ago. It fits without an adapter, which I couldn't find this answer for anywhere, so I just took a chance. I positioned it to face the front of the car at a slight downward angle to aid in drainage while still having the lowest point of the valve above the sump and stem just below the gearbox. In my opinion this is the best position on this engine. I just ordered a hose set because I can see the jet
