Efficient and Eco-Friendly Water Pump: Pumps-A-Lot WP10 Powered by Water (No Discharge Hose Included) Review

I used this to drain a hot tub and I don't know how I managed without it. it drained about a quarter of an inch from the bottom. I've never managed to pump out the last few inches of water with a regular siphon. And YES, it actually goes uphill!

I didn't like this product. It was very unpleasant and dirty to work with. The hose used to drain the water kept popping out causing water to splash everywhere. I had to stand and hold it the whole time. Also, where the hose was attached to this item, water would leak out and splash everywhere, even with a tight fit. It was very dirty and inefficient. I was very disappointed because in theory it sounded like an amazing item.

The pump itself works great, highly recommend. However, this pump, the WP10, requires a pressure hose to be effective. As another reviewer pointed out, this hose is hard to come by. Contrary to their review, I have confirmed on the manufacturer's site that you need a 1.25" hose. It's better to just buy the WP25 kit as it comes with that 8ft hose and you can get it for about that same price if you know where to look. As mentioned by other reviewers you need to have the correct diameter hose attached to the "output end" for this item to work. There is another version of this product here at Revain that already comes with the correct hose, but I think it's only 8ft long. Luckily we had a pool vacuum hose that fit EXACTLY perfectly, plus the fact that our pool vacuum hose is over 20 feet (maybe close to 30) long so we can direct the water exactly where we need it.
