used on 1995 F150 with plow

I used them to reinforce the front of my plow truck. Over 2 years and many hours of plowing these things are still holding up the truck well. I will definitely try to use them again for my trucks.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • unbelievable price

Size does not fit F150

Very disappointed. Bought these for my 1984 F150 2WD and they are 1 1/2 inches shorter. Of course, you only notice that when the truck is on stands and you've already removed the old shock absorbers and laid them next to each other. I'm returning them and using KYB instead. Attention buyers.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Updates available

I won't use them. Not compatible with rear brake line

Outer spring seems to be a gimmick. But the spring makes the device too wide to fit in my 91 F150 extended cab. Add to that the routing of the brake lines and it wasn't a good decision. The spring is still caught in my cables. I removed them and replaced them with normal shock absorbers.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • I will add later

Exactly what was advertised!

I was looking for a damper/coil over a set of dampers and found this. I was a bit hesitant at first - reluctantly because I tend to order stuff and it's either the wrong size or for a different car. These worked great. It's easy to install and added an extra 2 inches to my 1991 F-150. The trip is great! Exactly what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Short ones don't fit.

Hmm, that must be for my 1996 F250 pickup. You are too short. They're almost fully extended down the road, you hear a pop when they're extended. The spring itself rests on a piece of plastic and you can squeeze it with your fingers, so that's just for show. The yellow shock absorbers were old. Sent them back and replaced them with Gabriel 77414 Max Control. Significantly improved handling compared to the yellow ones.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Upgrades

They fit but are shorter than advertised

Revain says they don't fit my Durango (or Dakota) so I looked up the part number and gabriel.com said it was 15". fully extended from my standard 14 7/8 inches fully extended, so I ordered them because I kind of cranked my drawbar. When I got them I put the old and the new side by side, they are an inch shorter than my standard. So they still work but not as long as they say they are witches it's disappointing but they look really good and work at the moment I just can't turn my tiller the way…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
