Ridin on air for Shock & Vibration Control

Got these for my wife's 1996 Tahoe. I don't think I ever changed others because the ride was very tough. You changed the world. Very easy to put on.

Great shock absorbers for my Suburban

What's the difference! My original GM is 16 years old, 180,000 on my Suburban should have retired years ago. The gradual wearing off of the initial shocks seemed to gradually bring me into conditioning. Wearing these Gabriels is like buying a new car. Too bad I didn't change them sooner. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Gabriel 77489 Max Control shock absorbers

Very good shock absorbers. They replaced the Monroe Reflex HD model, which pretty much lasted 35,000 and gave up. (It's a heavy car) The Monroe has a slightly larger piston, but the Max Control's cylinder is larger and the mounting plates are much thicker. Gabriel is welded to the base while Monroe appears to be spot welded in the process. The driving characteristics are good and similar to the Monroe. I think both are great shocks but the value and construction should go to Gabriel. I should…
