Not airtight on cats

The ring fits the bucket quite tight. I understand why other reviewers had trouble with the hack. With such a strong impact on the ring, I could see cracks developing over time. My problem was the possibility of compaction. I poured water into the bucket and screwed the lid on tightly. When the bucket tipped over, the water spilled out. So the air will also seep in/out. The 2nd photo shows that bulges/bends appear in 4 places along the perimeter of the bezel ring during the casting process…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • High price

Bad seals.: Cats

I've been making rafters for over ten years. During this time I have used many Gamma caps and buckets. I bought two new caps for a week long river trip at the end of September 2019. Both lid seals defective. One fell off and was too loose to reinstall, the other fell on the threads, pinched and dented. Water got into both buckets, damaging the camera, ruining the charger and soaking clothes. I don't know why these lids are such garbage now, but I won't make the same mistake again. Don't trust…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Great concept - poor quality

I bought 5 of these. 3 of them, the ring that snaps onto the bucket have split and become unusable. The buckets are 5 gallon (12 inch diameter) white Walmart food buckets. 3 of them had cracks in the middle of the covers that needed sealing with tape. They never had anything with them. Pantry so not exposed to harsh treatment or conditions. In their defense they sent me 4 free replacement units but my confidence in this product is not as high as it was originally. I was hoping for a "tight" way

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not the best

Great product but overpriced

Great product, I defiantly planned to order five more but then I found that the same one is cheaper in the warehouse at home. It's great (although the o-ring slips off sometimes, but a few VERY modest drops of superglue fixes it), they're easy to open and close with one hand, are super stackable, and are stiff enough to sit on. They really transform the brine bucket into a versatile storage/organization/transportation tool. I even use it as a briefcase to bring my books and computer in and out…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

Poorly made, preventing defects Sealing

The first negative was the smell. The ring has a very bad odor that will probably dissipate over time, but I have no idea how long this can last. I wouldn't seal a bucket of food with it until it's completely evaporated. The sight of the rings attached to the bucket sparked even more disappointment. The rim of the ring, which should be in contact with the underside of the rim of the detachable part, has four dots that look like decorative strips. Two of these are dents and the adjacent beveled…

Pros
  • Leak proof seal protects contents
Cons
  • Older model

Formerly A+, now F due to cheaper design

I have been using Gamma2 seals for over ten years. I bought about 100 pieces in total. Until recently, I recommended them to everyone. They were strong, durable and efficient. However, recently it became known that Gamma2 decided to change the design of the lid. Many cracked on the first hit with a rubber mallet. This is the same rubber mallet I have used for the past ten years to install all of my other Gamma2 gaskets as Gamma2 recommends. The seals I received are very different from the ones…

Pros
  • Keeps food fresh
Cons
  • Requires outlet
