I bought these Gardner Bender PS-150Z Plastic Clamps, ½ inch, . They work great! I use them regularly to attach wire to things like frames or joists. Nails are best struck straight as they are thin. It's great not to crush the wire I'm attaching and holding. Thanks very much!

I have never used anything like this and it was easy to install on the first try. It turns out that if you press them against the cable (I installed 2 core 10g cable) the nail heads move towards each other as you place them on the cable so at first it's easy to do both hold true. When entering, they diverge a little, but this is very convenient and speeds up the work.
