Stainless steel! That's exactly what I wanted. It is very easy to use and easy to clean. You simply wrap a clove of garlic in the pod and the whole peel is removed instantly, and the garlic isn't wasted! The garlic press is the best I've ever bought. It's heavy, well made and very durable. Love it.

This garlic press is not ergonomic. You need to squeeze the two handles all the way together until they almost touch. It's hard to do it with one hand. It's better if the handles are further apart, then you can do it with one hand. The chrome finish makes it cheap. I'm afraid the chrome will come off and end up in my food. I returned it after using it.

This is by far the best garlic press I have ever used. I've had OXO for a long time and have always hated that it doesn't use all the cloves efficiently and is difficult to clean. This broke it, prompting a purchase. Wow! I want it to break long ago! This new press is amazing! It uses cloves and is very easy to clean. I would buy it again! Say YES to this press and NO to OXO.

There will never be a perfect garlic press, but this one is pretty good. Of course, you get quite a bit of "kickback" (for lack of a better term) with each squeeze (most of the lug flattens out nicely, but about 20% of the stuff peels off at the top and you have to fiddle with it with your fingers or a other tool to get it right). It's good in many ways, but the round part that does the crushing/pressure (as mentioned in many reviews) fits so loosely where the garlic goes that it crushes most of the garlic . and around it, so you have to put all the uncrushed garlic back in the bowl for another try. But the garlic peeler that comes with it is good, and the pins that push the chopped garlic through the holes are very functional (and fit well). The sad part is that it will still be a solid 3.5 star product (for the price).
