I've been trying out golf apps on my phone and sometimes they were accurate, sometimes they were off by 10 yards or more. The Garmin Approach G30 seems to be much more accurate on the laps I've used it on. There have only been two laps so far, but I scored more points in both laps, partly because I believed the distance was right.

I ordered the Garmin approach because it was compact and said it would connect to my smartphone. After numerous attempts to pair my phone with my Pixel, I finally called Garmin Support. They informed me that Garmin is not compatible with Google phones. I wish this was listed on Revain before I bought the unit. Now I have a device that only does half of what was claimed.

This is my third Garmin golf device. It's just as accurate as my others, just as easy to use, and the small size, along with a belt clip, makes it easy to carry on the trail. The remaining units either had to be left in the cart or put in a bag. I really like this one, plus it doesn't require a battery change every third time it's used.
