High-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

Sends recorded movement data to a satellite and allows for satellite-based mail and phone communication (depending on subscription). It is possible to send out an alert via mailing list and Geos when an emergency occurs by pressing the emergency button. He had solid results out in the field.

Pros
  • Cost-effective relative to similar items. carries out its intended purpose.

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

Allows you to record the route of movement, send it to the satellite, as well as send and receive text messages via satellite to mail or phone (depending on subscription). In emergency situations, you can launch an emergency button to send information to contacts from the mailing list and Geos. In the field, he performed well.

Pros
  • Inexpensive in this category. fulfills its functionality.

In general - excellent. Much better than the spots I had.

This is a 5 star device compared to my old Spot messenger - this messenger was a horrible, unreliable product that will no longer activate Spot. I'm deducting a star because there were really only a few things Garmin could do in the software to make it perfect. But here's what's great: - Reliable two-way messaging - a beep is a key feature letting you know you've received a message or your message was sent successfully. So simple, so helpful. (Although it could be a little louder) - Weather isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Overview of the Boundary Waters (BWCA) inReach Mini Canoe Area.

Last week I took the inReach Mini on a week-long trip to the BWCA. I usually go to the BWCA without any external means of communication and in 45 years of canoeing there and Quetico I have never had an emergency where communication could help. But a few years ago we took a rented satellite phone on a trip, and this time we took Reach with us, not because we were afraid of an emergency, but because we needed to keep in touch with what was going on back home. So why not rent a satellite phoneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

I have SE+ and chose this one. It was nothing but trouble. First, full disclosure, the mini software is not updated. Therefore, some of the issues described below may be related to this issue. The software update requires a Windows or MAC computer and I only have a Chromebook. For most people this is not a problem. However, keep in mind that you don't have easy access on a Mac or PC. To update the software, you must borrow someone else's computer and install the Garmin software on it to updateโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pretty package
Cons
  • Can't remember
