He was rigid and inflexible: he categorically refused to accept that the route to Carmel had to be south (San Diego) north to Salinas and back south to Carmel. Setting up and updating is very easy. Connect your GPS to your PC or laptop using the supplied USB cable. Go to Garmin.com/Express to register and update. GPS is very easy to use. My only complaints are: 1. It needs to be constantly connected to the network. If unplugged, it will die within 10-15 minutes. No hour as stated in their specs. Garmin Drive 50 USA LM I bought this GPS unit to backup Google Maps on my Nexus 5 for an overland trip from Illinois to California.
