🔧 Gates 33633 Engine Coolant Thermostat Gasket: Top-Quality Replacement for Optimal Performance Review

Arrived in a plain plastic repackaging bag with no manufacturer's label. Very thin and seems versatile. The dimensions were far from correct and did not match the thermostat housing terminals or the Felpro gasket it was intended to replace.

Excellent seal. The old RTV was cleaned then the backing stripped off the gasket and glued directly to the part then bolted together. It was nice not having to worry about leveling since it had a rind and stick. No leaks yet and I'm using this on my 351w turbo race car.

I've been doing this long enough that self-adhesive self-adhesive pads are still new technology to me. I definitely like it. Laid dry on the adhesive side. On the blank side it would probably be possible to dry install, but my old school had to smear these things with a thin layer of silicone. I've seen them seal well without silicone.

Please note that this gasket has adhesive on one side for ease of installation. No setup drama. The pads are very thin. They come in a pack of 10, which I think the buyer should be aware of for something this cheap. Four times I put tStat on the case, each time the coolant was still leaking. When I removed the tStat case to replace the gasket I had just installed, it was a wet mess, like wet newspaper, with no integrity.
