Due to the narrowness of the place it took a while.

Due to the limited space it took some time to get the right tools (sockets and wrenches) to remove the old part. But once the new part was installed it fitted perfectly and solved the belt tension problem.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Requires socket

Quality part suitable for aftermarket

Great for my 1996 Saturn SL1. The quality seemed good. The old one was fine but I was doing some related work so I replaced it. I hope it lasts another 20 years, maybe I should hope not to drive this car in 20 years?

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

held for 1 year! good for spares

A year after installation this tensioner fails and makes all sorts of noises. I bought this spanner because of the manufacturer's reputation and good workmanship. Not that it's a lot of money, but its location in a front-wheel-drive Saturn makes it a pain in the ass. Dissatisfied.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • There are drawbacks

000 miles on it like the last one

This Gates belt tensioner assembly is exactly the same as the original kit that was on my 1995 Saturn SL except for the numbers printed on it. I really hope to get 200,000 miles on this one like the previous one. I have used Gates in the past and will continue to do so as they have a better product. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Fits perfectly and its quality matches perfectly.

This was a replacement for my '97 Saturn S Series station wagon. Fits perfectly and corresponds perfectly to the original in terms of quality. For my application I had to lengthen the wrench I was using to get enough force to loosen the spring to fasten the strap. The office space is very cramped. Please note that some of the screws on the replacement tensioners differ from the original. I only mention this in case you buy a longer key as well. You may want to wait until you know exactly what…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
