Fits well, shipping was quick

Fits well and ready to fit. Replaced my old tensioner that was misaligned. Fasteners for belts and tensioners are most likely sticking - 1996 F250 7.3l Ordered on 04/01/20 and received free shipping on 06/01/20

Gates 7.3 tensioner, travel

Appears to be well made but Made in China and that worries me. Time will tell how well it holds up. I've always liked Gates stuff because of its better quality, but in the past I've been burned by Chinese crap, so I'll keep a keen eye out for problems.

Works great with engine parts

Works better than using stock engine tensioner (part with known issues) or "cut block, use later truck engine tensioner". Solution. If you have an OBS, don't have a flimsy factory tensioner and want something stronger without having to saw or file your block, this is a good and economical solution.

Don't worry about a slightly different look. This is a quality replacement part.

It definitely looks different from the original part, but trust Gates, it fits my 1995 F-250 truck perfectly). The packaging said it would look different than the original but would work just as well or even better. I had no trouble installing the part and it works great. So far, so good.

It's all about the bolt.

This is a quality tensioner with an improved design over the original (and problematic) Ford part. Gates states in advance that the mounting screw is not included in the scope of delivery and the original screw must be reused (without the washer). came off the assembly line. If you've ever replaced a tensioner, given the age of trucks with the 7.3 liter Powerstroke engine, there's a 99% certainty that you probably don't have the original mounting bolt anymore. My truck has over 220,000 miles…
