🔧 Gates Premium Engine Water Pump (Part No. 43057) - Enhanced SEO Review

Excellent factory appearance and finish. Fits perfectly and comes with a gasket which I don't think was mentioned in the description. I bought a seal not knowing it came with a pump and wasted $10. Installed with new bolts as the old bolts were horribly rusted inside the block after 24 years. Be sure to purchase them before installing this pump.

Installed pump lagged on a 1100 mile trip and completely lost 2 serpentine belts and the 3rd was on the way when I got home. Turns out QA (?) missed something as small as the right place to attach the 1/8" to 3/16" fan mounting flange, causing the belt to slide forward and eventually off the moving pulleys. Another once respected auto parts supplier sending our dollars to a communist country. The problem was solved by installing a 1/8" spacer behind the fan pulley.

The pump is excellent and appears to be of good quality. As mentioned in other reviews, I bought 2 felpro pads, "inner and outer" but ended up only using the "outer" felpro pad because the inner felpro pad seemed too big and the holes too small. I installed a Gates "inner" gasket and a Felpro "outer" gasket and drove about 20 miles and no leaks were visible in the engine bay or on the floor. I am happy with the purchase and only time will tell if the pump and seal hold up.

I promise you Gates makes very good stuff and to be honest I didn't even know they make water pumps and after a lot of experience with Gates belts I decided to make these without doubt to order. Of course, this bad boy sucks water gracefully while appearing more powerful than crappy repair and so-called "new" pumps from the parts store.
