Disappointing Performance in Automotive Water Pump

After I put it to the test, this replacement part failed to perform well. Despite fitting well into the engine, the water pump did not deliver satisfactory results in terms of cooling the engine. The only pro is that it fits well, but the cons outweigh it with its disappointing performance. This product may not provide the best value for your money.

Another great piece from Gates

Perfect. Works as expected, complete with gasket and rubber o-ring. Rotate freely. Metal impeller. would recommend.

Be careful when purchasing this pump the impeller design does not fit Chrysler 2.4T engine block

Not sure if a bad batch of these pumps circulates but the pulley on a Gates 43500 I do purchased from Revain.com March 2013 did NOT spin freely when hand-rolled. Lack of rotation of the pulley in the steering system or the water pump will result in engine damage! The pulley must rotate freely! When my mechanic loosened the bolts holding the water pump assembly to the cylinder block, the pulley turned a little (by pulley I mean the black pulley sticking out from the center in the picture of this
