*serious* fan! Suitable for fans and cooling

Very strong construction, lets through a lot of air for its size. As others have noted, it is louder than advertised. Image attached, 70dB in my iPhone app. Not gross, but you know it works. Disclaimer, measurements were taken at a distance of less than 1 meter to ensure correct focus. But it gives you an idea of the sound. Used for air conditioning in a residential pumping station. Rated for 67,000 hours. I will update this in 7.6 years if it's still going strong.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Prepare for the wiring to connect the power cord to the fan wires

Fan arrived today - looks good and solid. BUT, two small black wires come out with a small amount of wire inside, open at the ends. The kit included a separate power cord with small wires that aren't visible and I think they need to be stripped and connected to the fan wires. The kit comes with a small white device that should be a connector where you can insert wires to connect the power cord to the fan, but without indicating the direction. This is 120V AC wiring and exposed wires are…

Now it's a fan: Cased fans

I bought the fan because it matched the size of the vent in the shed I own. I tried to find the most economical and compact fan I could find. This fan meets all requirements. It moves a lot of air, which also means it makes some noise. Not unbearable to work with, but not "quiet" either. The van has a lot of weight, it seems that it will last a long time. I might try fitting an aftermarket speed controller. The only downside is that the screws that came packaged with the fan were too small in…

Good fan - adaptable

I bought this fan to see if I could use it in place of a fan in my bathroom hood. I didn't want to just replace the fan and motor with a bathroom exhaust kit as they are too noisy and I didn't want to rip open the ceiling to replace the whole thing. It took a bit of effort, but I was able to use this fan. I notice that the wiring is very small, maybe 22 and too small. It's quieter than the fan it replaced and is said to have more CFM. However, I doubt the accuracy of this 116 cfm release…

Helps stay warm

I bought one for my laundry room that has a commercial ice maker. The ice maker blows a lot of hot air. But I installed it with a thermostat that turns on when the temperature reaches 90 degrees. Then I bought two more. One for my garden shed and one in the attic. So far they've worked great.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results

  • Some little things
