This light looks good and works as advertised. But it doesn't work for us. We bought it as a motion sensor for our bathroom at night. Our bathroom is indoors and the light comes on when someone enters the room, even during the day when there is window light in the next room. We plugged it into the only outlet in the bathroom. I had three different motion detection night lights like this one. and we chose these to light the hallway at the base of our stairs to the basement so we don't have to turn on many lights to get to another room. SO we were really hoping for a 25 foot sensor capability. and are not impressed. FROM STRAIGHT FORWARD it CAN be about 20 feet away when you turn it on, but from the side the sensor only picks up about 6 feet and from above, even straight ahead, it picks up about 10 feet at most. I used it to replace an old 7 watt motion sensor night light that worked great and finally died after 10 years. I've tried other motion-activated night lights and most of them had crappy range and wouldn't turn on until you were within inches of the sensor. Just not this one. I love this night light. It turns on at least 15 feet away and has excellent angle perception too. It's much brighter than the bulb it replaces. It takes a few days to get used to the "white" light and not the "warm" light

See updates below. I've had it for about 4 months now and it works very well. First I plugged one into an outlet in the bathroom and the other in the hallway. Very useful in the bathroom. If I'm just taking a short break I won't turn on the overhead light, but I'll use the main light when I'm showering or reading there.
