They are very cheaply made and you can see the white on the bulb looks like it was invented by a drunk person and there is a colorless stain on it. One of them worked exactly 2 days, then just turned off and on again.

I haven't had enough light from these lamps for 3 weeks. The first bulb burned out after a week, the second didn't last long. Level 50 and 100 burned out on the third bulb and by then I was using maybe the third week. I ordered a 3-way LED lamp which I still use to this day. Not sure if these bulbs deserve two stars but since I got light from them for a week or two I decided to donate to charity. Not recommended at all. I received these bulbs in February and as of this writing on 5/10/14 the same bulbs I put in my living room lamps when I received them are still in use and working! When you install/use a 3-way lamp for the first time, the truck gets a lamp-to-lamp connection. Too tight and you may deform the bulb or break the bulb and the 3rd way won't work properly. The bulbs came in reliable packaging, none of them broke. The glass is strong. Doesn't break easily and lasts a long time. If you can love a lightbulb, I love it. They are ideal for those of us who are older and/or have poor vision in low light. Without the higher power I could not read. Due to changes in the Electricity Consumption Act many of my local shops have stopped selling most bulbs. I have a table lamp that I use for reading that requires a three-way lamp and the best lighting is 150W. I gave up searching locally and grabbed an oversized CFL that didn't give enough light.
