I bought 2 of these and will be ordering a third now if that tells you anything. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's as good as the one in my Kitchenaid dishwasher if not better, but 3 because it's still not good enough to handle the heat and not damage the floor. Eight months is all that took. I bought in mid-October and received at the end of October. I rarely use the dishwasher, two or three times a week. I don't turn my cutlery upside down. The 1 inch square where the basket broke is where I put my knives. Heavier at the base but with a sharp edge upwards. How the heck does GE manage to use this thing that lasted about 50 washes? Be sure to measure before purchasing as this basket is VERY large on all sides. It's also a lot darker than the gray in the picture. It has 3 separate bars on the tops that go over the basket. The large center top has a small latch that locks the lid, but the entire lid comes loose when unlocked. I've tried tightening it, but I don't think that's really the case. The lids are not big but good enough and I'm fine with that. The basket is very deep and I don't think you have to worry about longer
