Works perfect every time

I carefully read the reviews of about a dozen of these kits before installing my mini split air conditioning and refrigerant lines. I'm so glad I did. This worked great for every cut, flare and fitting. No leaks on the first try every time. It costs money not to do it again!

Try a different brand.

Try another brand. I purchased this tool from a local store but am leaving this review to warn others of its shortcomings. Die for installing the flaring tool on the 1/2" tube flaring frame. It's great for flaring other sizes of tube (provided the wing nuts are tight enough), but the design doesn't allow the flaring tool to work with 1/2" tube. Which is useful a quality tool when it doesn't work?

very poor rod assembly quality, cheap and flexible "iron? "

this tool doesn't work properly, the rod assembly can't hold the tube, when you tighten the rod, there is a big deformation in the rod so that the tube comes out of the rod. I have to use a 6 inch press to close the stem and then I can make torches. The 3/16 flares have always been off center, others flare in the center. With tools like this, I still think that's not the case. not much to think about, only snapon, otc and such really professional tool makers can rely on tool flaring.

Pros
  • brake flare tool
Cons
  • bad instruction
