***AVOID*** Absolutely UNUSEABLE as a caliper

Unless you need scrap metal. Avoid those calipers! The markings are NOT accurate, making them completely useless. Edit: Oops. I forgot to mention that there are VISIBLE GAPS even between the measurement faces causing tolerance problems, too big even for a kid physics lesson. I wanted something cheap for some book work, but cheap ones exist, and there's a whole other level of CHEAP (these are the last ones) and they're kind of inferior to my battered 5+ year old polymers, which are about the…

General Tools 722 Metric and English Calipers

Eh. Everything is OK. Not the best tool I've ever owned, but not the worst either. As soon as I took the calipers out of the box, I realized they were made in India. Sandy feeling when opening and closing calipers with adjustment ring. The drag screw appears to be for locking and unlocking the latch only. There is no difference in resistance as far as I can tell. laser markings? May be. But certainly very sloppy graduation with laser edges. A little hard to read but maybe I just need to update…

I got what I paid for (maybe a little less)

A bit of a "you get what you pay for" textbook - the product itself is almost worth the price, not very good quality for what should have been a precision instrument but damn I didn't say it has cost me riches. I wasn't expecting "Mitu caliber" quality, but it's very difficult to read with a reading window that doesn't inspire much confidence and a sliding locking screw that slips when tightened and then doesn't fully lock until measured .
