Other than that it's pretty cute, but what's the point of a rule.

The scale according to this rule is not accurate. I measured my calipers and some other rules and it's about 64. error times 6 inches. The error seems to be evenly distributed along the length, ie short not just the overall length, every inch is a bit shorter than it should be. Otherwise it's pretty good, but what's the point of a rule that doesn't measure correctly?

So far it looks good and serves its purpose.

I was concerned about the quality of the steel and whether the letters and numbers would wear off from friction. The steel feels strong and flexible and the numbers remain the same. I use it a lot during the day and it's not only useful for measuring as it's thin and durable. You can use it to get into areas too small for your fingers, slide into hard-to-reach places, etc. A really neat little tool that will come in handy time and time again in a workshop environment.

Accurate and easy to read - slightly magnetic

Every day I rely on a few different general rules for stainless steel. 12", 6", etc. They are not as expensive as the Starrett, but are still accurate and durable. I keep one in my bag with my pens and stash them in different places so I always have one on hand. I don't want to give up what I'm doing to look for a gauge. Although they are made of stainless steel, they are still slightly magnetic, so you can use magnets to attach them to convenient places. I even use it as a letter opener as…
