Saved us from the mess. for security

Thank heaven for this device. It was in our basement when we moved in 6 years ago. We almost threw them away thinking they were old. I heard a beep yesterday and checked into our pantry about 15 minutes later and our kettle was leaking. Without the General we could have seen a real catastrophe.

Pros
  • Household sensors and alarms
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Get one, order two more!

I bought my first appliance about two years ago to complete my kitchen renovation. Place the unit under the kitchen sink where there are multiple plumbing connections for the sink, dishwasher, ice maker, and hot water. While I haven't experienced true water leak detection, I have splashed water around the detector a few times while working on the connections and each time it went off an alarm. For the price it works great! Bought two more today to put elsewhere in the house. Good investment…

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Clarity

Works well for me with household sensors and alarms

My law firm has a gas water heater and this alarm is placed on the floor about 9 inches from the base of the water heater to detect any leaks that may develop. Works with a 19 volt battery. It has 2 metal bars running along the outside of the case and if water touches the metal bars as water conducts electricity an alarm will go off. I wish the alarm was louder but this is the loudest I've found and it's loud enough that we can hear it when it goes off. If you use this type of alarm in a remote

Pros
  • Security
Cons
  • Requires outlet
