Fixed cruise control

A little hard to pinpoint but that's GM's fault, not the switch manufacturer. Fit perfectly and fixed my cruise control on my 2007 Avalanche.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Some bugs

Easy installation. save $. DIY

This is one of the easiest repair methods. The cruise control stopped working in a 2011 avalanche. After a little research I bought this part and got the job done in about 15 minutes.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Fixed Our Problem

Although it was quite a complex setup, this part completely fixed the bug we were having with our cruise control. The failure of this part caused the cruise control to think the brake was on and therefore the cruise control was not working. (Chev Suburb 2007)

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Slightly Torn

My cruise control was fixed

Bought a used 2007 Chevy Suburban and the cruise control stopped working. After a bit of research I came across this part which is said to be responsible for cruise control issues. After a tough fight with the previous switch clip, the new one went in with no problems and fixed my cruise control. Couldn't be happier with such a cheap simple solution.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Fixed cruise control on my 2010 Tahoe

Cruise control was not working on my 2010 Tahoe. When I googled I found out that the brake light switch is very likely defective. After ordering I pulled the old one out and put this one in about 45 minutes later (my retaining clip got stuck, it should have taken 15 minutes), my cruise control worked. zero problems

  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Secret

Intermittent Cruise Control Issue Fixed

A 2008 Silverado with over 200,000 miles was experiencing cruise control issues due to a faulty brake light switch. Since the original lasted over 200,000 I decided to upgrade to a genuine GM replacement. It was a little tricky getting the old one out, I'll put that down to my advanced age, but the new switch went in right away and solved the problem.

Pros
  • Brake Light
Cons
  • Functionality

Great replacement part

My cruise control was acting weird - making turns on the motorway, refusing to engage at times etc. I thought the factory unit was defective so I had one of those replaced. It's above the brake pedal where I really couldn't reach it so I got my 11 year old daughter to swap when I was training her of course. She replaced the broken unit with this one in about 10 minutes and the cruise control works like clockwork.

Pros
  • Switch
Cons
  • Poor manual

2008 GMC Sierra cruise control works again!

I was having trouble with my cruise control not working all the time on my 2008 gmc sierra 1500. stop working straight away. I did a little research and decided this part is what I need to get my cruise control working properly again. It only took a few minutes to install and now I have my cruise control back!

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Negative Impression

An extremely simple repair for a part that regularly fails. Lots of documented steps online and YouTube can show you the steps. I replaced them in 2009 and GM added a screw to the terminal, once you remove it, insert the terminal, disconnect the electrical connection. Reverse steps and done. It's nice to get a $15 repair when others I know have spent $150-$300 at dealerships to fix them.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • So-so
