Another very simple update to my Honda Element! I used to have to open the passenger door to get in because the driver's door lock no longer worked. I replaced the driver's door lock actuator first, thinking that was the problem. Did that and all that changed was the lock went up and down electrically but I still couldn't get in from the driver's side. too simple: anti-theft

I have a Honda Element 2005 LX. The key holder on the driver's side broke off. I had been crawling around for a while when it suddenly dawned on me that I could get electric locks and work around the problem. The locksmith came out and spent some time trying to get the key fob to work. After checking out I ordered a cheap one online just to check it out. YES - it works on '08 Element!

serial number cross referenced to original receiver and it was a perfect match. All my locks were fine but I recently bought a car - NO CONTROLS. So I rated them. Since all the aftermarkets got negative reviews I decided to buy the whole set. As for the transmitter/receiver, it costs a little more. The box and instructions say it's for the CR-V, but it worked fine with my Element. I believe any 03-11 Honda that has a regular immobilizer key will be compatible. Replacing/installing a new one…
