Original Honda, screwed directly to the firewall. If your old one has rust, replace it. My MPG and throttle response improved immediately. Remove the old one and keep it aside, close the holes with your fingers and shake. This replaced the gold Napa fuel filter I previously had. Since changing the fuel filter on 1994-1997 contracts requires special tools due to the difficult-to-reach area, it's worth replacing with one of these. These are supposedly lifetime filters that never need replacing, but don't quote me. It improved my gas mileage by at least 2mpg.

I removed the gas cap to relieve the pressure. although others say otherwise - I drained most of the fuel from the bottom screw. get your rag ready! - Complete replacement and leak test took about 30 minutes

I received it about an hour ago and installed about 20 minutes ago, quick and easy replacement for peace of mind. The old one I removed said it was made in China. I've never changed this part since I've had the car (3 years), I'm glad I replaced it. You will need 19mm to hold the fuel filter in place, 18mm at the top and 14mm at the bottom to remove it. This filter fits perfectly as an OEM Honda should be. Came with the correct sealing washers, the threads fitted perfectly. I wish Honda would get their engineers to actually do the repairs so they could better accommodate traditional replacement parts. This filter could (and should) be mounted on the frame, near the fuel tank or in the engine compartment rather than on the driver's side lower firewall.
