Fits 2009-2014 Sonata

I fitted it to my sixth generation (2009-2014 model) 2.4 liter Sonata. The original PCV that came with factory settings has a socket size of 23mm, but to remove it you need to find a deep socket with thin walls. I used pliers to remove it because the nest I had didn't fit as it was too close to the "outer walls" that surrounded it. The valve is plastic, be careful. This new one is the same but with a smaller socket size (I used a 13/16 socket for installation, about 21mm in metric units) so…

Replaced with 2011 Hyundai Sonata with 2.4 liter GDI engine. I wasn't sure when or if mine was last changed, probably at 103km when the short engine block was replaced. I have 175k now so I decided to change it. There was quite a bit of dirt on the old one, but it still rattled nicely, so it probably worked fine. I'll keep the old one in reserve. The nut size on both was 21mm (same as my lug nuts) although you can unscrew them with an adjustable wrench or combination wrench - the valve is…

I've been wondering where all my oil goes and figured since I've put 273,000 miles on the old girl it would be okay to lose a quart or more between changes. Eventually I decided I would check the PCV valve as there were no leaks, no smoke from the exhaust pipe and no signs of wear other than the engine oil disappearing. In fact, it was hung by WAO with valve innards dangling like many small (but not so small

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Let's start with the fact that Hyundai and Kia parts are interchangeable. Although Revain says they won't fit, they do fit Kia vehicles. So this part is perfect for 2012 Kia Forte with 2.4L Theta II I4. Engine. There's an easy way to check the PCV valve: if you shake it and hear a rattle inside, it's fine. If you don't hear a rattle, it's very bad and needs to be replaced. When I changed the valve, I noticed that my old valve rattles differently. It sounded like gara-gara and the new one I just
