I really liked this brush head - I tried two Philips Sonic.

I really liked this tip - I've tried two versions of the Phillips Sonic for sensitive gums. The other set was an older version. This new version was a bit firmer but still fairly gentle on my gums and overall I liked it as much as or better than the old version. However, after using the first brush head in this set for 6 weeks, the top tuft of stubble fell out while brushing my teeth and I ALMOST didn't choke on it. very dangerous and NOT something you want to accidentally swallow! I thought…

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Expandable

Very complicated. in toothbrushes and accessories

The bristles in these heads are very stiff. I have receding gums and use it very carefully so it doesn't hurt more. I miss the ones with soft bristles. I might be missing something in terms of their gum benefits, but very hard bristles hardly seem gum-safe.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons

Literally falls apart

I bought a pack of four and each fell apart after 3-4 uses. In this model, the bristles are not built into the brush head, but in separate rubber baskets, which are then glued into holes in the brush head. I contacted Philips direct and they sent me a 3 pack of the same which also fell apart. I contacted again and they replied that this never happened but again they agreed to send replacements. I asked for standard nozzles and when they came in the mail there were two of them. I use an oil…

NOT extra soft - harder than G2

I have used three more G2 brushes since I bought the Sonicare 5100 Gum Health Toothbrush which came with a 'optimal' G2 brush. Be the last and the best. Right? no It took me about 30 seconds to figure out that this brush is in no way "extra soft" or not compared to the G2. My gums were irritated and long term use of these G3s wouldn't be great. A few quick fingertip comparisons quickly confirmed the stiffness of the G3 and G2 bristles. The G3 heads are more comfortable than the G2 heads, which…

Failure rate 3 out of 4

I've been buying Philips Sonicare brush heads since I've had Sonicare brushes - too long to remember. I have always found them well made, reliable and comfortable. Until now. This brush pack was unacceptable. The same thing happened with 3 out of 4 brush heads: The large bristle insert at the tip fell out after about 1 month of use. The whole fork, not just the bristles. It's so expensive in the beginning, such a bounce rate, who can afford it? They definitely don't take them anymore. I've…

  • Some cons

Warning: not compatible with all toothpastes

I opened the packaging and found a warning inside: The brush head must not be used with toothpaste containing coconut oil. It would have been nice if this warning was visible on the outside of the packaging so I could return it, but instead I'm stuck with the most expensive attachments I've ever bought and now I have to go out and buy new toothpaste before I can can use. Life is complicated enough. No one needs to worry about compatibility issues between toothbrush and toothpaste.

Pros
  • Like all previous ones
Cons
  • So far so good

Breaks apart quickly

I try not to brush too hard, and there's no way Sonicare will allow you to brush your teeth too hard. So I know I didn't abuse these attachments, but both fell apart in less than 2 weeks of use. The only thing I can think of is that I add essential oil to my toothpaste to make brushing easier and that may have softened the glue that holds the brushes in the brush head. I've tried brushing right after applying the mixture to the brush and immediately rinsing it all off with vinegar on the second

Pros
  • FLEXIBLE DESIGN: Conforms to the unique contours of your teeth for more surface contact and gently cleans the gumline
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
